Coconut Oil Toothpaste

Three ingredients. So simple!!!

3 TB coconut oil
1 TB baking soda
12 drops of peppermint essential oil

Mix all ingredients together in a small container.

To use just dip your DRY toothbrush into the jar, add some water and brush. Do not put a wet toothbrush into the jar….any water in the jar will cause mold to grow.  Coconut oil hardens at 76 degrees so depending on the temperature of your bathroom this mixture will be liquid or more like a paste…either way it will work the same!!

This recipe will last a few weeks. Since there are no preservatives, it’s best to work in smaller batches to keep the toothpaste fresh.

Enjoy bright, white teeth and a healthy smile!!!

Obviously the taste will take some getting used to, but once you do you’ll never go back to regular toothpaste. Coconut oil is antibacterial and antifungal so it will keep your mouth nice and clean. This recipe also doesn’t include any nasty chemicals or fluoride found in conventional toothpaste.

The following articles outline the great benefits to using coconut oil as toothpaste and the dangers of harmful chemicals and fluoride in conventional toothpaste:
